Amaryllis flower
This amaryllis, planted by a former inhabitant, greeted me this morning.
  • Gathered some fallen and pruned branches from around the yard and goat pasture
  • Cut chicken sticks from them
  • Planted my winter-sown Chamaemelum nobile out. I think I got 21 plugs from a single one-gallon milk jug
  • Chicken-sticked, watered, and mulched them
  • Chased guinea fowl away from the road

What the heck is a chicken stick, you may ask?

It’s not like a fish stick.

I’ll write a separate post about it…

  1. “What the hell is a chicken stick?”, she thought to herself. And, reader, what was the next thing she saw? The author, promising to answer that very question. She sighed in happy satisfaction, knowing she was in good hands, hands like Kali, even.

    1. <3 And then the author slept worse every night, got a nasty headache and bad news, and didn't answer the damned question... Soon...

  2. Love your photos. O M G, the snake! And the light is lovely through the leaves of your–is that canna lily?
